The short version
Ariata is an instrument, not a service. It has no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours behind it. What you play stays on your device unless you deliberately share it.
Data the app does not collect
Your performances, presets, and recordings are created and stored locally on your iPhone. We have no access to them. The app never opens the microphone: recordings and BGM exports capture the instrument’s own audio directly.
Motion data
If you use AirPods that support motion, Ariata reads head-motion data (via Apple’s CoreMotion framework) to shape the instrument’s register and resonance while you play. This data is processed on the device in real time and is never stored or transmitted. Head tracking is optional; the instrument plays fully without it.
Apple Intelligence
The mood feature turns a short text you type into an instrument preset using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). Your text is processed by Apple’s system on the device; we do not receive it. The feature is optional and the app is fully usable without Apple Intelligence.
Shared links
When you share a sound or a phrase, everything shared is encoded in the link itself — six preset values, a name, and optionally the notes of a four-bar phrase. Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server; whoever receives the link receives all of it. This website renders a preview of such links from the link contents alone and stores nothing.
This website
ariata.app uses Vercel Analytics to count page visits in aggregate. It sets no advertising cookies and does not track you across sites.
